Head phone and Desktop Icons disapear "Not Solved please hel

hi, as soon as I connect my USB Logitech head phone into the USB port.. my icons on my desktop disappear!
I can't even get the headset to work yet... sound only comes out of the speakers!
I went into the mint desktop to put them back on and they still didn't show up.
I ran into the Icon problem before the headphones and all i did was log off and login again and there they where.
how can I fix this problem
