Is the drive present in "Computer"
If yes it's recognized - if no you may have a hardware problem
If it's recognized try all sorts of different discs and see if one sort is recognized
It's not all too uncommon that certain discs don't work

OK guys - show us your /etc/fstab files
You should have a line in it for your drive like this
/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0
Possibly scd1...

Show the output of dmesg when you insert a CD. Also show the output of mount after the CD has been in for a minute or two.

Clem.
Husse, that's nothing to do with mintSystem.

I don't see anything obviously wrong
Do you have an IPOD connected?
/dev/sdc2 on /media/IPOD
Disconnect it and see what happens
And what is sdb? It's nowhere to be seen (but my eyes :))

and when I put a cdr in and click on it it gives the the error "Can't Mount File"
That should happen with a blank CDR
Try to remove Brasero as indicated
