Graphic problem with Mint 7

Postby Alber-journal on Wed May 27, 2009 3:19 am

Hello everyone.

I've just installed Mint 7 and everything goes fine except for one thing:
-When I choose Compact View, the folders change their font color, they turn black, son I cannot choose a dark background, for the name of the folders become invisible.
-I can't change the Visual Effects configuration, nor the Compiz Config options.

I think the problem is the video card, which is Intel 82865G. But I did not have any problem with Mint 6, What happened?
I downloaded and installed the intel driver, but it did'nt work.

Someone knows what can I do?

Thank you.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Now when I open Xorg.conf, everything has changed.
Now there's only this:

Section "ServerFlags"
Option "DontZap" "False"
EndSection

That's all. Is there a way to fix it??

There is a section in the instructions about editing xorg.conf, it should look like this.

Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
Option "EXAOptimizeMigration" "true"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
Option "Tiling" "true" # i8xx users: set to false
EndSection

You have to make sure the script is running too. I had problems with this the first time i tried this, the instructions were revised and now I have the script running.

I followed the steps right like they are explained, but it does not work.
I'll have to keep on searching...
