Acer 5515 CPU question

Postby lexon on Fri May 29, 2009 11:44 am

The below CPU has been suggested.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103298

Not sure how much this might improve performance of this laptop when running Linux. Maybe only for running Windows and gaming, maybe 64 bit Linux OS?
Any thoughts? Thanks.

Upgrading the processor is generally the last step in upgrading - more often than not you don't notice a difference
And upgrading the cpu in a laptop is a bit risky....
Upgrades are preferably done in this order
More memory
Faster hard disk
On a desktop better graphics card - especially one that can run "Cuda" or the ATI version of it
Something else :)

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
