Cant route sound to bluetooth headset.

Postby slogum on Sat Jun 13, 2009 7:09 am

I ave a JABRA BT620 bluetooth headset.

My computer detects the headset, and pairs it.

But how do I get the output sound routed to the headset? When I play audio the sound is going to mye PC speakers.

I've searched and read a couple of guides, but I cant figure this out.

Any howtos or something? :)

try Sound & Video from the Menu; Pulseaudio volume control; select the Playback tab; with no audio stream running; start an audio stream; right-click on the stream now showing; it should offer" MOVE STREAM; select the stream you want: (hopefully bluetooth is an option?)

Does that work? Does it help?

I've got the same issue with a pair of Senheiser bluetooth headphones - they pair fine, but I can't see them as output hardware. Right-clicking the stream only gives the optiont to terminate it. Any references to those guides?

Guys, I have the same problem. My headset (Sony DR-BT50) is shown as connected, but the sound does not get routed to it! I don't see it in ALSA mixer - it can not be selected as an output device. Please someone give us a hint where to look for a solution.

pulseaudio-module-bluetooth might need to be installed. I had to install it in mine.

wyrdoak, thank you. Perhaps you are right. But before I read your answer, I followed someone's advice to reinstall all ALSA and Pulseaudio modules. Pulseaudio-module-bluetooth was among them. And it finally worked! But I think the sound quality is currently is at its low end. I need to switch it to its high end.
