I purchased a Dell Mini 1010 a few weeks ago. I wanted a linux one; but there were none available in my area (Baton Rouge, La.) So I purchased a XP version. I have been trying to get a Linux distro to install to a 16 gig flash drive so I could run Linux on it. But there seems to be a problem with a Linux driver for the GMA 500 video in the unit.
I recently read that the Ubuntu team had worked out a set of good drivers for that chip set and it would be incorporated into the Ubuntu Netbook Remix. As Mint is a spin off of Ubuntu I was wondering it Mint would be incorporating the GMA 500 drivers into the Mint distro. While I would not mind putting Ubuntu on the flash driver I would rather put Mint as it has certain advantages. fdalbor
