[SOLVED] Turning off the computer...

Postby zal0st on Sun Jun 21, 2009 2:13 pm

Hello! I have Linux Mint 7 and every time when i turn off my computer i need to press down the power button because it's not turning off automatically. Does anybody know how to change it ? I had the same thing on Ubuntu and i added acpi=force to the line and it helped but it's not working on Mint...
I also tried adding acpi=off and /sbin/modprobe apm but with no result... I would be grateful if someone would help me because it's so anoying... :D
Oh and sorry for my english...

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

First of all go into your computer setup (BIOS) immediately on boot and make sure you have ACPI enabled. Then come back here...

The only option i have is "ACPI suspend to ram" i have enabled it... What now? :D

I have disabled that bios option and added acpi=force lapic to the console, now everything works fine, the computer is switching off automatically
