How I got my Epson 4490 scanner to work

I am using an Epson 4490 in Gloria 32-bit. I don't know if this will work on x64, & I don't know if other Epson scanners will work though it seems likely that scanners from a similar Epson "family" will. The repositories are not mine, but belong to DoctorMo, & member of the Ubuntu forums that helped me get my 4490 working in Ubuntu. The process is slightly different for Mint.

Restart your computer & turn on your scanner. Now go to MENU > GRAPHICS > Image Scan! & you should see a similar screen.
Happy scanning
