wired internet problem on HP Mini 1000

Postby stevo937 on Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:15 pm

First off lemme say, I love Linux Mint. Thanks for all the hard work that has gone into guys!! :D

I currently have Mint 6 running on my netbook, HP Mini 1000. Almost everything works, including speaker sounds that Ubuntu users seem to have problems with the HP Mini's.

Anyways, my netbook has yet to find a wired connection when the ethernet cable's plugged in. I know it worked for Ubuntu because I previously had 9.04 on my netbook and tested everything.

I'm currently downloading Mint 7, but in case that does not work, any other ideas? If it worked for Ubuntu, do I simply need to somehow hunt down a module for my NIC?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hi

There were problems with the network manager in Mint 6 which have been sorted in 7. If Ubuntu 9.04 worked OK then 7 should be fine as it is based on 9.04.

Good Luck.

Re: wired internet problem on HP Mini 1000 [now sound problem]

Well I threw Mint 7 on a flash and it auto detected the wired internet connection. Now there seems to be a sound issue. I've searched thru the forums and found a few posts that could help, but anyone have any ideas on aquiring the sound modules in Mint 6 to apply in Mint 7?
