Logitech Z-10 Speakers

Postby beyondthepale35 on Mon Jul 13, 2009 11:40 pm

Im sure theres a topic somewhere out there about this, but since I'm a linux newbie I figured I'd ask someone if they knew how to get my USB speakers recognized. At the moment the only program that gets sound out of them is VLC, otherwise I dont get anything. Thanks a lot to anyone who can help.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Welcome to Mint
It would have helped if you told us which Mint you have
You have to go through all settings for sound - not only in "Sound" in the control center but also in the mixer(s) - right click the speaker at the clock and open the mixer
Go through it and look for anything connected with USB

Yeah, I forgot about that part. Im using Gloria, and Ive tried every config I can with the USB speakers in both Preferences and the Mixer and havent been able to get anything going other than in VLC.

That's odd - have to think about it for a while and come back to you

I have never set up usb speakers in Linux but every thread I have found has been similar to this one.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? ... gitech+z10

It is an older thread but the most complete information I could find on the subject.
