driver for GIGABYTE GA-MA78G-DS3H

Postby belzebub on Sun Jul 19, 2009 8:48 am

Hi to all of you,

since a while i´ve used a recommended driver from Envy for the internal graphics od this MoBo, but hope to find somewhere a better one, because video´s are hacked in bits usually. Surprisingly under XP ( dual boot system ) it´s doing fine.
so it´s the driver, i guess. AMD offers a new driver ( ati-driver 9.5 propri Linux x86 release date 18.05.2009 ), does someone have any installing experience ? could use some support.

You've given us the motherboard model. We need the audio chip. Run the following command in a terminal:

inxi -G

that will tell you the audio chip - if it is ATI go to the ATI website, download the correct driver and follow their install instructions carefully, they are fairly self-explanatory. We could do no better here.
