SoundMAX AD1988 support in gloria?

Postby chardonnay on Wed Aug 12, 2009 11:44 pm

I've just installed a new-to-me Asus motherboard, with SoundMAX AD1988 for the onboard sound. I didn't reinstall Mint; it was already on my hard drive. As you may have guessed, PULSE doesn't detect my soundcard at all.

While googling, I spotted a couple of links indicating that a driver for it had been added to the kernel source tree. Could the problem simply be that it's not enabled in the generic Gloria kernel? Is there a Minty way to build your own kernel?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
