sound problems

Postby richfox1968 on Mon Jun 11, 2007 4:37 am

Hello folks,
I am a linux newbie and am stumped.
I have installed cassandra as I had been running ubuntu fiesty with intermittent sound problems.
On installation of cassandra sound seemed to work fine both system and multimedia but after installing nvidia drivers using envy I lost everything.
I did come along a thread which suggested going to control centre and ticking alsa in the services bit.
This worked on restart but since nothing, have checked and it is still ticked - stumped.

Here is some info on my system hope helps

Welcome to Mint richfox1968
I see the dreaded letter combination ICH...
Did you upgrade to 2.20.16?
That has created a lot of problems
You don't seem like a Linux newbie when you swing around all the commands you use :)
