mint 7, no audio, hp 6735 notebook (SOLVED)

just dual boot loaded mint 7 w/xp pro and no audio at all.

the audio workaround worked great for mint 6 ....

- Add following line to /etc/modprobe.d/options
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop enable=1 index=0

- Edit /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/30-keymap-hp.fdi
Just replace 6730s with 6735s

the 'options' file no longer exists and the '30-keymap-hp.fdl' has no references to the 6730s

????

1) The file can be created, but I'd suggest you use a more suggestive name, along with a .conf extension (eg hp_6735_audio.conf)

2) Not sure what that's all about, I think that's about getting the hotkeys working. We'll do it one step at a time, the sound itself first.

It's for my solution centre - a new app I'm making that I hope will eventually be included in Mint, which has a database of solutions for problems which have them but are hard to detect when it is required, or just generally can't be included in the distro.
