Old Problem - Palm Pilot [SOLVED-idiot...]

Postby drryan on Tue Oct 06, 2009 8:29 am

Love Mint 7. Currently using Gnome. Tried KDE however there are some clitches with my Acer 5920 so went back to Gnome version.

Problem : My Treo 650 will not sync with jpilot. I have been around the block with linux and PDA since Slackware 4 or 5 and a Handspring Visor. Just can't seem to get this one right this time. Worked great with Mint 6.

Particulars:
Treo 650 using Cradle

Various outputs and files:
jPilot set to "usb:" (without quotes)
jPilot read out: Just keeps waiting and waiting for me to push the hotsync button. (Yes I pushed the button BEFORE hotsyncing)

pilot-xfer -l works set to "usb:"
x@xxx ~ $ pilot-xfer -p usb: -l

Listening for incoming connection on usb:... connected!

Reading list of databases in RAM...

Before I go changing udev rules and such which I really have no business doing because it would be cut and paste of examples because I don't know what I am doing with those rules, I have to believe this is a permission issue or something simple since pilot-xfer works. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Turns out all it took was to look at what was running. Seems gpilotd was running and that was somehow blocking jpilot. Everything works as it should now. To coin the scarecrow in Wizard of Oz "If I only had a brain....."
