What happens when you go to restart the system from hibernation?
Do you just get a black screen? Or an error message, perhaps?

Also -- What is the size of your swap partition?
Is it as larger as or larger than your 2Gb of RAM?

Hi
Run this command in terminal[Menu-->Terminal]
This shows your memory, including swap file information.
Run this command to check your swap
Post the outputs of both commands here and we will see if everything is OK.
