Laptop problem

I used the live cd with no problems...I installed and not the keyboard and touchpad does not work....
any ideas?

Sorry, Linux Mint 8 - full install
laptop = hp compaq nc4010
I have used fedora and ubuntu with no problems on this laptop.
It boots up fine, but i can not do anything once it is up.

It must have worked during the install ? ? Did it ?
Do you , or did you have an external keyboard attached ?

Yes, during the install it was perfect. After the install it said remove disk (live usb key) and hit enter, i did and it booted up fine...then the problem.
it also has a tomboy applet error loading if that is some kind of clue?
