Hi,
I have a problem with my notebook integrated 2.1 sound system. The sound is like the title already says only out of the subwoofer and not of the normal speakers.
I'm a Linux newbie so I dont have a clue how to solve this problem.
I dont know what soundcard I have. The Notebook just says Sounblaster Compatible Soundcard 16 Bit. Is this really a Creative card? Are there special drivers for this card which could solve my problem?
Please help me. The System is running so great only the sound is making problems.

It could be a case that the volume isn't turned up on the correct channel, type in the terminal and see if any of the levels which seem relevant are turned down.
You cant click, just use arrow buttons, left and right to select a channel and up and down to change levels. press escape to exit.
Code: Select all
alsamixer

I'm sorry but it didn't worked.
There are 3 Levels.
Master, PCM and Front
PCM seems to control the subwoofer.
The frontlevel has no effect.
I have a HDA ATI SB Soundcard with a IDT 92HD75B3X5 Chip (says the alsamixer)
