I'd like to use Mint 8 now that I've tried it. Neither of my video cards are supported unfortunately.
Is there a list of supported cards I could look into please?

Many thanks.

More context/data needed..

In terminal, check
  • inxi -F
    --OS check; detected devices
    inxi -G
    --graphic card
    lspci
    --general check
Here's the Ubuntu one (HCL, Hardware Compatibility Linux)
  • Mint 7:Gloria (Ubuntu 9.04/Jaunty) Mint 8:Helena (Ubuntu 9.10/Karmic Koala)

Almost any VGA/Vesa card will work in VGA mode

Note' ...
--as fas as most software and system functions are concerned..
Mint 7 is based on Ubuntu 9.01 (jaunty)
Mint 8 is based on Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic)

Thanks DrHu. (Sorry).
I guess my next question is? How do you tell if a card is a Vesa card?
Mint 7 picks up everything and takes it to the park for a nice walk whereas 8 just plays 'come get me' just as Karmic did.
(Not your fault). :D

I have two cards, both Radeon, both only show 800 x 600.
No worries I just thought I would ask. Thanks very much for the reply and the links, I'll go check those out.

Many thanks again.
