Ya know, I've disabled the screen saver, display still goes to sleep in 5 to 10 minutes. Changed my power management settings to put the display to sleep in 30 minutes, but it still goes to sleep in 5 to 10 minutes. Used "xset" to attempt to modify the xorg DPMS settings, same problem. Tried disabling Gnome power management, same problem.
Tried Mint 8 with 3 other computers all with different video cards...Same problem...
Searched high and low on the web to find a solution, and nothing works. I'm out of ideas at this point, anybody got a solution at all?

Re: Power Management Not Working
You can access some additional power management settings by pressing ALT-F2, type gconf-editor, in editor left pane browse to apps->gnome-power-manager->general. Also check out http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=37376.
