Solved black screen after installing Linux mint 8 kde

Here is what i did

1/ I booted the live cd of linux mint 8 kde
2/ I clicked the application launcher menue
3/ Then went to system and clicked the dolphin file manager
4/ I clicked on root on the left hand side
5/ Doubled clicked the etc folder and scrolled down to the
X11 folder and opened it up to have a look at the xorg.conf
and it had this

Section "Device"
Identifier "Default Device"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "NoLogo" "True"
EndSection

6/ So i changed it to this

Section "Device"
Identifier "Default Device"
Driver "Vesa"
Option "NoLogo" "True"
EndSection

7/ To save the file i had to do this
A/ right click on xorg.conf
B/ Go to root actions and click
ownership to active user
C/ then saved xorg.conf and
reebooted removed the cd and
was at my nice new linux mint8 kde
desktop you have to love mint 8
8/ Then just go to system, Hardware drivers
put in password for admin rights
9/ install nvidia accelerated graphics driver (recommended)
10/ then i went to invidia x xserver settings and set it up with
twinview
11/ Then i just right clicked on monitor 1 put a nice pic on it
did the same with monitor 2 and am very happy
hope this helps out some one else it sure fixed my black screen
