Where to report machines that are a no go
Both Ubuntu 9.10 and Mint 8 worked great on my Dell Latitude C610. But the C610 has met it's match with Ubuntu 10.04 and Mint 9, the C610 is essentially unusable. This laptop was never a speed demon, but I could play DVD's, browse folders without issue, do basic tasks without issue. Under both Ubuntu 10.04 and Mint 9, takes 30 to 60 seconds to open a folder for browsing, DVD play is choppy, factory wireless card no longer works, basic tasks are simply not doable. I know much of this falls on Ubuntu. But I just wanted to know where I would go to report this so others know that the C610 and Mint 9 may not be the best match.

If it's stock, it's a wonder you were able to do much with it until now. Bump up the RAM and I'd wager you'd breathe new life into it.

Not a stock setup. Ram is maxed out at 1GB up from the original 256MB. Hard drive upgraded to a 160GB 5400 RPM up from stock 20GB 4200 RPM. Screen upgraded to 1400 x 1050 up from stock 1024x768.
Laptop ran great with Ubuntu 9.10 and Mint 8.
If I can't resolve the issue I may move the Dell over to PCLinuxOS.
Mint 9 runs great all other machines. Nice job Mint team!
