[Solved] Damage volume control in LM9

Post by promat3 »

Hello and Welcome
Last time I test RC relase of LM9 and everything is almost perfect, because I have one bug in my desktop I mean volume control in LM9 is not sensitive like in old mint (8) or Windows 7 I mean I can hear voice but only when sound volume (slider) is almost on half in volume control. My speakers is Logitech Z-5 on USB. Look at this screen and you know what I mean

Screen -> http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/6026/mint9.jpg

1. Slider is almost on half and still I can't hear nothing
2. I moved a little to forward and I can hear (barking dog) but still too quiet
3. "Normal" volume range I mean not too guiet not too loud (in Windows 7 probably would be 8% and in old Mint 8 also somethig like that)
4. Screen with settings
5. Screen with settings
6. Screen with settings
7. Here is something to consider because volume control near clock is on full, but why volume in sound preference is like on image number 3

For comparison here you go screen from old LM8 and volume control with slider, as you can see small move to up and here we go I have volume like in point 3 I mean "normal"

Screen -> http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/6384/mint8.jpg

I have the same situation in Ubuntu 10.4 but in old Mint or ubu is normal so I don't know this is a bug in new version's or something :(

Looks like you are mixing apples and oranges here. You are trying to get "Alert sounds" (dog barking) through Output volume without having alert sounds turned on. It is a wonder you hear anything at all. Enable window and button sounds seen on pics 1 to 3. Adjust sounds with the second bar in the pics for alert volume.

Thank you for reply Its stupid problem because Today I play music from youtube and is so much better than a dog barking because when music goes on i hear much moore When the slider is low. Still is not like Mint 8 but is better than last try with "dog" Thanks so so much anyway. And I'm sorry for everything but this is my first serious step with linux. Thanks once again for reply
