Thanks for the kind welcome! Well, I've finally gone and installed my first Linux distro! It was a close choice between Elive and Mint... (the reason I chose Mint is because it's slightly more polished, IMO.) I'm still tied to Windows XP as I've set up a dual boot. Maybe that will change in the future...
Back on topic, I figured out how to set up my Palm m130 to hot sync after installing Mint 3.0, as it wasn't working as well as the livecd boot.
Open up the terminal and type:
- Code: Select all
gksudo gedit /etc/modules
And add the following line to the bottom of the list:
- Code: Select all
visor
I have found that my PDA has syncing problems with many distros, but I believe this fixes most of the recent Debian type distros. Incidentally, the Palm syncs with no problems using Debian 4.0 or Elive.
