immediate reboot after hibernate

Post by bixby »

Hello there,

First of all, let me say how happy I am with Mint 9.
I just installed it on an older laptop which I intend to give to my dad (he's 68) for web-surfing, emailing etc.
It's a Acer Travelmate with a Pentium M @1.6GHz, 1GiB memory and an ATI Mobility Radeon X600 PCI Express card.

Everything's working real nice, except hibernate.
Actually, hibernate is working, but immediately after the system finished hibernating, it is rebooting and resuming from the image instead of switching off.

Here are some lines of dmesg:

I don't know what to make of this.
My swap partition seems to be ok:

I thought that maybe this has something to do with the video drivers.
I did not (knowingly) install any additional ATI / Radeon drivers.
According to synaptic, radeontool, libdrm-radeon1, xserver-xorg-video-ati, and xserver-xorg-video-radeon are already installed.

There aren't really a lot of BIOS settings to play with on this machine.
I already disabled "wake on LAN".

Any suggestions to this will be of great help!

Re: immediate reboot after hibernate

Post by rabrol »

I'm having the exact same issue. Using a Gateway NV54 with Intel T4300. As with previous poster, everything else is working great including suspend to RAM. However the hibernate begins, then the machine just reboots and loads back the image is had saved.

I am using a dual-boot setup with Mint 9 and Windows 7.
