googling has told me that ubuntu and mint users have got this printer to work by using synaptic and installing "libcupsimage2-dev".
Using Mint9 I get nothing trying to install it. Can anyone tell a noob how to install this package?Thanks

To install that, simply open the menu, then package manager, then search for that package.

solved by installing libcupsimage2-dev from synaptic and then downloading drivers from scourceforge. No driver for scanner yet.
