Audio issues.

Hi, can anyone help me with this issue? It had sound in Windows 7 of course....but no luck in LMDE/Ubuntu/Mint in general. This is a fairly new laptop. Here's the lspci -v output. I would like to add that sound initially works when using LMDE live session (it played the Linux Mint startup sound)

If you haven't already you might want to check to see if your sound card is muted in the alsa mixer. For some dumb reason alsa mutes a fair amount of sound cards/chipsets by default. The default muting accounts for at least 50% of the post complaining of audio problems.

To open the alsa mixer enter this into the terminal.

Look for any fader with a "MM" at the bottom of it and navigate to it with the arrow keys and unmute it by pressing "M"

I checked before I posted this topic if anything was muted, and nothing is muted. I did what you said and everything appears fine....so I wonder what it can be
