USB Flash Drives

Post by bigdan574 »

Ok here is a weird one. I have been using Ubuntu linux most of this year. Had no problems with USB drives.. Flash drives.. My cell phone in mass storage mode. I upgraded to 10.10 with a fresh install. Then my drives would not mount. Sooo I looked a different distros and I really liked Mint. Soo I installed Mint 9 and everything was peachy... Drives all worked again they showed up when I plugged them in.. Well then I saw that Mint 10 was out So I downloaded it and the problem is back.. I have a Dell inspiron 531 everything else works as it should.. I really really like Mint 10 but I really need to use my USB. I have some knowledge and have searched and searched for help and it seems no one else is having this problem with Ubuntu 10 or Mint 10.. Any thoughts?

Check the drives status/permissions, to see if you have rw(read/write) access..

I would check the drives status.. But they are not showing up at all.. I took mint 10 off and put mint 9 back on and they work fine. I guess I will just wait until the bug is worked out.. Thank you for your effort..
