Removal of SD Cards from Card Reader

Post by riki »

I see two options to safely remove SD Cards from my integral Card Reader: Eject or Safely Remove Drive. The latter doesn't work properly on two counts: if I click on it the SD Card becomes enabled again within seconds and I have to re-click. Also, when the SD Card is removed and I re-insert it straight away it doesn't work at all and I have to reboot. So Eject is the one for both the CD/DVD drive and the Card Reader. Is the Safely Remove Drive option used for another function and I am missing something? I am on JULIA. Any comments anybody?

I have always used the "safely remove" option without any issues, but I also remove the card immediately. This works for cards and for also my camera (which shows as a card).
