Hi all,
Strange bug (or perhaps a "feature") that I can't seem to fix.
When I switch users, the soundcard seems to "lock in" to the previous user, and is not available for subsequent users. When I go back and log out all users, it is available again.
Soundcard is the M-Audio Audiophile 2496, which itself inexplicably requires extra work to get running in the first place (this soundcard is nearly 10 years old and used to work flawlessly with Linux, now I have to do manual config to get it running).
Anyone run into this before, where the first user logged in "locks up" the soundcard preventing other users from accessing it?

Sorry to bump this again.... I've been searching for days and have come up with no solutions.
Surely this isn't an isolated instance? Anyone run into this before, where one logged-in user "hogs" the soundcard from all the other users?
