Climate change

Now, everybody is talking about climate change and with the rising energy
prices, I like to build a less power consuming desktop computer.
In order to build a desktop computer consuming less than 100 watts of energy, I have to make some calculations. I want to use the new AMD BE2350 dual core desktop prosessor ( consuming only 45 watts max ! )
But ! This new AMD prosessor works the best together with a ATI/AMD690G
chipset mainboard ! I have 2 questions.
1. Works linux well together with dual core prosessors ?
2. Will the new linux kernel 2.6.22 ( used in ubuntu 7.10 gutsy gibon and linux mint 4.0 ??) support the ATI/AMD690G chipset full, also the inbuild graphical chip ?

No problems with dual core
The 690 "should" work but better with earlier kernels and probably w/o 3D
Not sure about this, pretty little useful info out there

Thank you, Husse. No 3D with the 690.
I think I will use a nvidia chipset mainboard.
I know it will have full linux support, but, it will consuming 10 watts more !!
The 690 is the most energy saving.
