Suddenly no sound from speakers, headphones work (SOLVED)

I was just doing some updates through mint-update and while the updates were downloading (not even installed) I decided to listen to some music. I got no sound from the speakers. Headphones work fine, and I even rebooted into windows 7 to see if the speakers worked, and they did. So there has to be some setting in linux I can modify to correct this, I just need some assistance on finding it. I checked alsamixer and everything is at maximum volume. I have a Realtek ALC629 sound card using an acer eeePC.

I don't know if this helps, but I also checked the pulse audio meter and it acts like it's playing audio.

Once I solved sound problems with "blacklist", but with Mint I don't have any experience. Maybe you should search under this aspect (editing one of the files in /etc/modprobe.d/).

I can't believe that fixed it. I put the computer into standby, brought it back and it works fine.
