Hello, I wanted to install Mint over windows on a laptop and just before I did I ran the live cd first.
Well I found that the sound doesn't work. I checked in "sound" and then clicked the hardware tab & nothing is listed
My external speakers also have no sound. I checked and ALSA is installed (by default anyway) and tried to install all alsa files along with alsa-utl. Still nothing.
also my mic doesn't work (but I dont care about the mic)
I have a HP G62T
Pentium 2.13 dual core
win 7
4 Gb ram
Intel HD Graphics
and It says I have Altec Lansing speakers on the laptop
and with device manager in windows it said it uses a Real Tec audio driver
I want Linux so bad and need sound any help would be appreciated, I do not want to install until the sound works if thats possible. I just tried Fedora 14 and the sound (internal and external work great) but wireless does not work.ERRRGGGGG!!!!
