Plugged the dongle in and just my luck nothing worked!
I wanted it to work so I could copy files off my phone as everytime I connected that with the wire it just sat there doing nothing, and I in my ignorance thought bluetooth would be easier.
Using version 4 of Mint, which I think is superb by the way!
The dongle has 'EDIMAX' on it but that is all.
What do I do now it is plugged in to the 'pewter please?
Many thanks indeed.
Kevin.

Re: Bluetooth No name dongle not working
Bluetooth is marching on...
I've answered quite a few questions about it lately - oh back in Saturday - no wonder I did not find it at first
I think this may help
http://linuxappfinder.com/package/bluez-gnome/
And it's in Synaptic

Thanks Husse for replying,
I have installed that program through synaptics as suggested and now what is happening is:
I search for a bluetooth device and it finds my 'pewter, mint-desktop-0, I input a password on the phone then the 'pewter pops up and I input the same password in there. Then the phone says 'bluetooth connection failed'.
If I right click on the bluetooth icon on the taskbar and get to preferences it shows my phone name as it should do.
I have clicked on 'visible and connectable for other devices' but this doesn't seem to help me?
Stuck now where I am going wrong on this could you offer any more help please?
Not sure if it matters but the phone is a Sony Ericsson K800i and the only reason I want to use bluetooth is I have taken a few pictures, and I cannot use anything to get them onto the system as every phone program I have used falls over!!!
Many thanks again.

Re: Bluetooth No name dongle not working
Husse,
Never tried connecting my phone to this version of Mint as the other version as I said it never used to work with my phone, just for the hell of it I connected it up and it shown me my memory on board the phone and the 2gig card, so really I don't need bluetooth, but, would still like to get it going if possible though please!
I copied the pictures I had on the phone over and now have a way of doing so, but still at a loss with the bluetooth?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Bluetooth No name dongle not working
I have a W700i and USB works right out of the box. The only thing is I'm asked if I want to import photos and I click yes - but nothing happens, so I have to open it as a normal USB stick
But I don't have Bluetooth in my computers (don't think my wifes Satellite has either) so I can't experiment and gain experience. Hard to answer then....
