light and dark lines on screen?

maybe this is a question for a regular computer forum but-
I have recently noticed darker lines where the dark images are and lighter lines where the light images are. The dark and light lines go all the way across the screen. Is it my video card(I reinstalled my video driver already, no luck),my monitor, or does the Mint OS need reinstalled?

You could load the Live CD and see if it makes a difference.

I finally tried the live disk and found I had the same problem. Tried a different monitor too, no luck. Maybe the video card? The video card is just a 16MB NVIDIA TNT with a heatsink. I hope it's not the Motherboard. I really don't know to much about hardware requirements.

Anybody have any ideas before I start replacing things?

just FYI, I figured out the obvious, it WAS my video card. I replaced the card and had to do a reinstall.

You may have just removed and reinstalled the original card that might have fixed it
