Nvidia graphic card

At the installing of Mint I got this: "nvidia card too new for updates". i need the card to work because 3D effects, of course. What is new for Mint I don't really know, but my card is at least 3 years old, så how may I update the card? Don't ask me wich card I have. In this moment I'm away form home and I can't see it. Anyhow, can anybody help me? Thanx

First off, what model number card is it. That's the most important part right there. Secondly, if it's this old, and after finding out your model number, you'll know if you need to be using the legacy Nvidia drivers or not. I've never used them on Mint, so I have no idea if it doesn't find that card automatically and install the legacy's.
