Dell Inspiron 1525N with Ubuntu 7.01 question

I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 1525 pre-loaded with Ubuntu 7.01.
Can I safely assume that I will be able to install Mint instead with relatively few problems?
Mint is my distro of choice and I would like to use it on my new laptop.

Dell has added another laptop to their Ubuntu offering. I take this as a good sign that linux is moving more mainstream.

I am not familiar with this unit, but I wouldn't anticipate any big problems since it already runs Ubuntu.
