After trying the live cd, I was impressed enough to attempt an install. I'm a newbie but eager to learn. After searching through these forums I got sound working working. It also sees my wireless card. I have not been able to connect to a network for some reason, but hopefully that will work itself out. I am struggling to figure out how to get the built-in webcam to work. Anyone figure this out yet?

You can't expect a solution if you don't post details of your hardware. FYI it's not possible to search for a specific Dell, Lenovo or what have you as there are numerous variations with the same name

I apologize for not being more complete. I'm a newbie and have no idea what that command is. i mistakenly thought someone with a similar configuration ( I believe the webcam built into the Vostro Laptops are the same but it is still a bad assumption). Thank you for pointing that out. I will post output in few minutes
