Because I am so tired, I didn't do it exactly like you said, but it seems to have worked!
First, I got thinking, and it is pretty slow loading the CD ,and doing it that way,..so I went a head and just tried it from the terminal, after I logged off of here, I connected the OB HD, ran the command,
- Code: Select all
sudo mount -o remount /
When I re-booted, I don't know, it looked like maybe it had not worked, but I still did not try to open the drive, or anything,...and I got thinking, well I am going to try to hangin here, and try it like he said, from the live CD, so,.. I did, select safely remove drive,..I did not wait, or notice if it shut off, but did not get any error message, and I shut the computer off again, So then I booted with the live CD, it seems it took a lot longer to load, and even the computer "groaned",..I could feel the table, sort of "vibrateing", and my thoughts, were oh no, you really messed it up now,!,..So finally the live CD had loaded and I got my "instruction file", copy the command, and paste it into the terminal,
I hit "enter", and quickly select the menu, to select re-boot, click that, and it was at that moment (it already way shutting down) I saw to my horror, I had forgoten to plugin, the OB HD,!,.. So anyway, it had also ejected the live CD, I put that back in, and re booted, I did not hit the f12, fast enough, ( this gets the menu to boot from CD drive),.. and it booted normal, and was going to just call it a night, and try tommorow, but I decided to plug the OB HD in, and see what happens, to my surpise, the LCD started blinking, again , the computer literally "growned",..a little,.. but the dirve not only appeared on my desk top, but opened, and there are all my files! Now read able, etc,... Thank you so much, I will get back tommorow,..
for now I will sleep better , this is taken care of !
