Touchpad on Olivetti S1500

Postby vale.maio2 on Tue May 01, 2012 8:03 pm

Hi everybody, I have Linux Mint 12 with Gnome 3.2.1 and Kernel version 3.0.0-12-generic. I'm using an Olivetti notebook, model Olibook S1500, made in 2010. I'd like to disable the mouse click by tapping on the touchpad (I find it very annoying). On mouse settings there's no way to disable it, as if I don't have a touchpad but just a normal mouse. When I had Ubuntu 11.10 on this laptop I've tried by using SynapticsTouchpad, but it didn't work.
Here's the results of command xinput list:
Code: Select all
vale@vale-Spring-Olive ~ $ xinput list
⎡ Virtual core pointer                       id=2   [master pointer  (3)]
⎜   ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer                 id=4   [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎜   ↳ FSPPS/2 Sentelic FingerSensingPad          id=12   [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard                      id=3   [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard                id=5   [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button                               id=6   [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus                                  id=7   [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button                               id=8   [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Sleep Button                               id=9   [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ USB 2.0 UVC 1.3M WebCam                    id=10   [slave  keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard

Since this laptop is very uncommon, I didn't find anything about this issue. What should I do?
