Linux Mint 14 Mate 32 bit does not mount ISO image CD's (specifically "The Sky" sky survey.) This is not a hardware issue. Windows 7 can mount these CD's on the same drive. The various Linux live DVD's run without problem. Mint 14 installed from the same drive without issue.
The following error is returned when Mint 14 attempts to mount the first CD of the sky survey:
Unable to mount USA_AURA_STSI_DSSH_0001
Error mounting /dev/sr0 at /media/panama/USA_AURA_STSI_DSSH_0001: Command-line `mount -t "iso9660" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,iocharset=utf8,mode=0400,dmode=0500" "/dev/sr0" "/media/panama/USA_AURA_STSI_DSSH_0001"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only

In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
There have been no other hardware / OS issues with Mint (a very impressive feat Mint Team!), but I will have to look for another distribution if a solution is not available.
