Hello,
I successfully installed Mint 10 LXDE on an old Compaq Armada E500. Got the system up and the battery charged from 0% to 100%.
I was quite happy with the result but then I came across the following bug:-
(1) When the system is up and I remove AC power, the whole thing freezes.
(2) When I boot on battery, the system freezes halfway the booting process.
I have searched other posts - one that talks about a similar issues is at
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... ry#p218304
but that was not resolved.
Thanks.
Michael

Have you tried to boot the system with different bootoptions? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions
Try "acpi=off".
