FAT32 question

Post by yamawho »

I know XP can not make a FST32 partition larger then 32GB.
If I use Acronis or GParted and make a 300GB partition in FAT32, will XP see it at 300GB ?

I wanted to also share this partition with OSX but the 4GB file size limit in FAT32 is a pain.
NTFS is the way I will go ...

Yes. I created an 80 gig partition using gparted. Winxp had no problems reading or writing to it. (hda = winxp + fat32 partition, hdb = linux.)

Yeah, XP mounts big FAT32 partitions/drives just fine. I have an external drive (250GB) which is FAT32 and mounts fine in XP.
