[Unsolveable in 64bit] 64-bit Mint 13 KDE and Canon LBP7018C

People have gotten LBP7018C to work on 32-bit Ubuntu systems: http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=766611
Has anyone done it successfully on a 64-bit system?
I had to create .debs from 64-bit RPMs supplied by Canon and then followed this tutorial: http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/insta ... _canon_lbp

Captstatusui works and says Ready to print. Printing jobs, however, get stuck with this error:
"Can't connect to CCPD: Connection refused"

I will try next with a laptop on which I will install 32-bit Mint 14 KDE.

Hey, thanks for that Australian link! It has version 2.5, while I only found 2.4. It still doesn't have a deb for 64-bits, but I will first try with alien and then the 32-bit deb.

edit: 2.5 didn't help on 64-bit. 32-bit report to follow in the next couple of days..
