Trying to get XSane to work with Lexmark Prospect Pro205

I would like to scan with my Lexmark Prospect Pro205 all-in-one, so I installed XSane. However, I realized after-the-fact by going to http://www.sane-project.org/ that my scanner is not supported.

So, I wondered to myself, would I be able to scan if I used XSane as a GIMP plug-in? I loaded a two-page document in to the feeder and lo and behold, the first page did scan. Of course, it wasn't the PDF that I wanted, but it did work.

A user posted a review at http://community.linuxmint.com/software/view/xsane , and apparently, there is a way to get it to work with a Lexmark Prospect Pro205. Is there something else I need, such as Simple Scan or gscan2pdf?
