Issues with network printer following a fresh install

I have been a happy Mint user for a couple of years now. I used to run Mint12 on my workstation at the office and apart from a couple of small issues I was quite happy with. I have installed Mint 14 back in December and copied over my files and "preferences" from my most recent backup.

One of the issues I am experiencing is with the shared printer (Konica Minolta C451) we have at the office. I copied over the /etc/cups/ folder to the new installation and since then it's been problematic, in a way I have not seen before. The system thinks that the printer works fine, and when I send a document I get notification saying the document was printed successfully. However in reality the printer sort of crashes with the "Data" lights blinking forever. The only remedy at this point is to do a hard reset on the printer, which as you might imagine is not very popular at the office.

I have tried different drivers (even Generic Text-Only) and different protocols. I tried removing the printer and installing from the CUPS interface @ localhost:631. Still no joy! I believe it might have to do with copying over the /etc/cups/ssl folder which I guess should not have been copied over. Is there a way I can reset to default settings, so I can start with a clean slate?

Any help at this point would be very appreciated!
Thank you

In case anyone stumbles upon this question, in search for an answer the following is what I have found after days of fiddling on the internets:

The problem is a known issue that seems to have come up somewhere between CUPS version 1.5 and 1.6. Ref: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1053443

Temporary solution: Define the printer as Generic post-script see: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p= ... ostcount=6

Let hope that it gets solved reasonably soon
