HP Laserjet 1500 L

The printer HP Laserjet 1500 L is able to print all but color, except when it does the self test (from the printer itself, but not from Linux)
This issue happens regardless of settings in the image viewer
This is all the relevant info I've got

printer-driver-foo2zjs
printer driver for ZjStream-based printers
(version 20111202dfsg0-1ubuntu1)

openprinting-ppds
OpenPrinting printer support - PostScript PPD files
(version 20120322-0ubuntu1)

(All last versions)

Hp-Setup doesn't seem to have the options I need, anyways I've tried

mint@mint ~/Desktop $ sudo hp-setup -i

HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.12.2)
Printer/Fax Setup Utility ver. 9.0

Using connection type: usb

error: No device selected/specified or that supports this functionality.

Which is pretty strange considering the printer is able to print B/W as I've said.

I'd be grateful for any suggestion you may have

Cheers
