HP Deskjet 1000 has stopped working

Post by unclebuck »

I've got an HP Deskjet-1000 and it has worked fine since I started using it with Linux Mint sometime in the summer but the last two times I've had difficulty. On Friday I tried to print something and it wouldn't print for awhile, and then 30 minutes or so after I'd given up what I wanted printed fine. Today I'm trying to print shipping labels from Paypal and nothing is happening, I tried to print twice and after a long delay CUPS says the printjob is complete even though it isn't, now on the third try it has been trying to print again or something (I get notifications that it is printing and in the CUPS active jobs queue it updates the "Processing since **** " time.

What should I be doing to get my printer to work?

Thanks

I'm not sure we have the same problem, but maybe the solution is the same.
My HP 1006 ran out of paper during a print job. After that, nothing will print to that printer. It shows no print jobs are pending. Physically unplugged and restarted the printer. Disconnected USB cable and reconnected. I have deleted that printer from the list and installed it again. Still nothing. Can't print test pages or anything else. Any ideas anyone?
