Need help to install canon mf4770n on mint 17

/usr/sbin/lpinfo -v

and please then paste it into a terminal; ............ if you hold the control and alt and t keys down together, you will open a terminal; paste into the terminal using the mouse and the top line of the terminal that starts with FILE and then to the right is EDIT and down to PASTE .....

and then please COPY the result; and paste it back here please ................ so we can see how your computer identifies the printer ...........

so you need the UFR driver; 64bit from here http://support-asia.canon-asia.com/cont ... 70810.html and you will click to download Linux_UFRII_PrinterDriver_V330_uk_EN.tar.gz and it should be saved; and it should then end up in your Downloads folder;

I have downloaded this driver to have a look at it; it was updated on the 16th Dec 2016; Canon have an install script; it should do all the work ..... hopefully so if you can copy the commands below; and paste them into a terminal: use shift control v whereas control v is used in most other programmes ...

...hit the ENTER key after you paste each command ........

tar -zxvf Linux_UFRII_PrinterDriver_V330_uk_EN.tar.gz

sudo ./install.sh

and you should get asked for your sudo password so enter it and the install script will hopefully do it all for you ..........
