canon selphy cp510 cups

Hi Guys.

I am trying to add my canon selphy cp510.
When i add a new printer it is found: gutenprint52usb://Canon/SELPHYCP510?serial=NONE_UNKNOWN&backend=canonselphy
Then i click next, it searches for a driver and i get a screen with name, description and location. I leave all default and click Apply.
An authorization window appears. In here i fill in an administrator username and passord.
Then the error appears client-error-not-possible.

Who can help..
(linux mint 17.1 cinnamon 64 bits kernel 3.13.0-44)

another way to add a new printer is to .............open a terminal and copy in this command

system-config-printer

.......that opens a window with an ADD button top-left; it is often easier than wrestling with CUPS

That is how i tried, it's the same as adding a printer with the printers menu in the configuration panel.
Then I add a printer. It finds the plugged in selphy printer and it fails as described in my first post.

Nope, i use this printer just now and then. I gave up and use windows7 for printing my photo's.

so the gutenprint folks would say this device IS supported by gutenprint

If you go here http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/p_Contact_Us.php you can see an email contact .........gimp-print-devel which is at lists.sourceforge.net...can I suggest you contact them as they would be best able to help you

they believe they support essentially all the Selphy devices
